Saginaw in Springtime

Margaret Greenaway and I got to spend the weekend at LiaBraatens' (the weekend before last). It was great to be there again. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing the convention grounds in the different seasons this year: seeing the leaves fall and gathering chestnuts with Ellen for her fall decor, sledding down the snowy slopes when we got all that snow in January, and now taking springtime wildflower walks. : ) Here are some of the new things I've discovered, unique to spring at Saginaw. Let me know if I have the wrong names for any of the wildflowers.

Lamb's Tongue

I guess this isn't technically a flower, but it will lead to many, won't it!

Look what I discovered on the way down the hill past the mill—a new set of steps leading to the mill restroom! What a nice improvement! I didn't notice them at the regional meetings.

I can also see a few things ready to be taken care of when preps arrive—tree branch down between mill and restroom.

Look at this apple tree all trimmed up, and tied down so it will be easy to pick the apples. So after the brothers take care of the downed branches, maybe they'll have some apple pie or apple crisp to enjoy. : )

Check out what is swimming around in the pond!

Trillium

Bleeding heart

Violet

Pink Lady's Slipper…I had to pick a couple of these to add to my wildflower bouquet.

The Saginaw store is closed, but lately we're seeing signs of renovation! It would be very nice if at some point Sorensons and LiaBraatens, and the rest of the Saginaw PO boxholders, could start getting their mail at this store again…hopefully before preps and convention!

Margaret and I were at LiaBraatens' on Milo's birthday (April 27th). It was his 77th this year. Sorensons came for lunch too, and he seemed to enjoy the celebrations thoroughly. : )
